Dries Phlypo (° 1977) is producer and managing partner at the Belgian independent production company A Private View. He started his career as a youth programmer for Brugge 2002 and launched the youth film circuit ‘Lessons in the Dark’. In 2004 he joined A Private View where he was an executive producer on MOSCOW, BELGIUM (2008), A PERFECT MATCH (2007) and LONG WEEKEND (2005). Subsequently, together with screenwriter/producer Jean-Claude van Rijckeghem, he produced a dozen films, including SEA SPARKLE by Domien Huyghe (2023, Berlinale Generation Kplus opening film and Special Mention winner), MY DAD IS A SAUSAGE by Anouk Fortunier (2021, Best Youth Film Ensor), THE BEST OF DORIEN B. by Anke Blondé (2019, Best Screenplay & Best Director Ensor), ZAGROS by Sahim Omar Kalifa (2017, Grand Prix FilmFest Ghent), VINCENT AND THE END OF THE WORLD by Christophe Van Rompaey, (2016, World premiered at Locarno IFF and Best Comedy Nominee – EFA), BRASSERIE ROMANTIQUE by Joël Vanhoebrouck (2012) and OXYGEN by Hans Van Nuffel (2011, Best Discovery – EFA). Dries co-produced more than 30 international films, including INSIDE (2023) by Vasilis Katsoupis starring Willem Dafoe, OINK (2022, Berlinale Generation Kplus opening film and Winner Best Film Golden Calf) by Mascha Halberstad, DIRTY GOD (2019) and ZURICH (2015) by Sacha Polak, COBAIN (2017) by Nanouk Leopold, BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS (2015) by Diederick Koopal, COUPLE IN A HOLE (2015) by Tom Geens and many others. He produced several shorts: PEDRO by Aline Boyen, A MILD GESTURE by Ann-Julie Vervaeke, ROMANCE by Douglas Boswell, MOMENT DE GLOIRE by Hendrik Moonen, the oscar nominated TANGHI ARGENTINI by Guido Thys and the oscar shortlisted BAD HUNTER by Sahim Omar Kalifa.

Dries also focuses on producing television series. AMIGOS (10 episodes, 2015) was created and written by Jean-Claude van Rijckeghem and Pierre De Clercq and directed by Kadir Ferati Balci and Hendrik Moonen. Dries also produced the animated series RUSTY with Lemming Film. In order to further his focus on TV content, he founded Mockingbird Productions in 2017 together with Bruno Wyndaele and Jean-Claude van Rijckeghem. They produced the are in development of the animated series MISTER PAPER and RUSTY, and the drama series A GOOD YEAR. In 2022 Dries and Jean-Claude became the sole owners of Mockingbird Productions. They are currently producing the series LAURA H.

Dries is a board member of the Flemish producers’ association (VOFTP) and in 2010 he joined Les Ateliers Du Cinema Européen (ACE).
